Jen Robertson-Hatanaka (she/her) is regional vice president, leading the Starbucks western region, representing approximately 450 company-operated stores and 9,500 retail partners (employees).
A “boomerang” partner, Jen first joined Starbucks in 1994 in Vancouver as a barista. From there took on multiple operations roles over the course of 14 years including spending two years in Australia as Starbucks Australia’s operations leader. She rejoined Starbucks in 2016 in beautiful British Columbia, Canada.
Her people-first mindset led her to multiple leadership positions at the company as regional director and national director of Starbucks Licensed Stores, to name a few. She brings the same dedication to her work as the executive sponsor of the Café Unidos Partner Network, which creates and fosters a space to celebrate Latin & Hispanic culture as a community of partners.
Jen lives on the Sunshine Coast with her husband— a former Starbucks partner turned firefighter — their two children and dog on a 6.5 acre farm that they are slowly establishing. Jen loves being outdoors, camping and kayaking when she isn’t tending to her gardens. Her favourite Starbucks coffee is Guatemala, though she also enjoys a daily grande Pike Place roast with a splash of cream and the occasional Blonde Flat White.
