Starbucks Double Downs on Convenience with More Locations Offering Curbside and Delivery Across Canada

Starbucks Canada is continuing to meet the needs of its customers with added convenience, connection and personalization by expanding Mobile Order Curbside Pickup and Starbucks® Delivers services to more store locations across Canada. This is the latest evolution in Starbucks plans to build a new level of resilience for the future, as part of its accelerated, 18-month transformation strategy of its store portfolio

Following a successful pilot, Starbucks is bringing Mobile Order Curbside Pickup to 77 additional stores in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario, now making the service available in over 45 Canadian cities. Available using the Starbucks App, order Starbucks food and drinks via curbside offers customers with the unmatched convenience they are looking for, while maintaining the welcoming feeling of personal, human connection Starbucks provides.

Starbucks® Delivers, powered by Uber Eats, has also expanded operations, adding 52 new store locations. This expansion includes bringing Starbucks delivery to customers on the Uber Eats platform for the first time in over 20 new cities including Kelowna and Abbotsford in British Columbia, Fort McMurray and Spruce Grove in Alberta, Collingwood and Welland in Ontario, Moncton, New Brunswick and St. John’s, Newfoundland.

With safety continuing to be top of mind for Canadians, use of Starbucks digital offerings have seen significant growth as customers seek familiar and convenient experiences that allow them to enjoy Starbucks how they want to. Since March 2020, demand for Starbucks Delivers has tripled, while the use of mobile ordering, has grown by over 60 per cent.

Starbucks remains committed to increasing convenience-led formats in its store locations, as well continuing to innovate rapidly to help fuel the company’s recovery out of the COVID-19 pandemic. The expansion of Curbside Pickup and Starbucks Delivers joins a number of other convenience formats such as drive-thru and grab-and-go.
