Starbucks Canada today shared plans for the next phase of its store transformation to serve rapidly evolving customer needs for convenience, connection and personalization.

Last summer, global CEO Kevin Johnson shared the <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://stories.starbucks.com/press/2020/starbucks-to-transform-us-store-portfolio-by-building-on-the-strength-of-digital-customer-relationships/" target="_blank">company’s intention</a> to accelerate a five-year store transformation strategy into 18 months. In Canada that includes accelerating the number of Drive-Thru locations in 2021 – the first of which is a unique responsibly-constructed store, set to open this month in <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://stories.starbucks.ca/en/stories/2020/first-of-its-kind-sustainably-constructed-starbucks-store-to-open-in-canada/" target="_blank">Abbotsford B.C</a> – expanding Mobile Order and Pay and <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://stories.starbucks.ca/en/stories/2020/starbucks-delivers-powered-by-uber-eats-expands-to-quebec/" target="_blank">Starbucks® Delivers</a> services; a <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://stories.starbucks.ca/en/stories/2020/starbucks-canada-to-begin-testing-curbside-pickup/" target="_blank">curbside pickup</a> pilot, and exploring other new convenience formats. Starbucks Canada today announced it will be launching a pilot of Starbucks Delivers, powered by Uber Eats, in Quebec making the service available for the first time in French Canada as customer demand for delivery is on the rise.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Since March 2020, demand for Starbucks Delivers has tripled as Canadians look for convenient ways to enjoy Starbucks in their daily routines, while continuing to practice social distancing. The addition of delivery in Quebec is part of a national expansion of the service that will bring dozens more Starbucks stores onto the Uber Eats platform to better serve customers’ growing and evolving needs across the country.

Starbucks is accelerating the transformation of its store formats to best serve evolving customer needs of convenience, connection and personalization in the wake of the pandemic. The expansion of Starbucks Delivers powered by Uber Eats joins the company’s growing list of available convenience formats, including drive-thru, <a href="https://stories.starbucks.ca/en/stories/2020/starbucks-canada-welcomes-customers-back-grab-and-go-service/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">grab-and-go</a> and <a href="https://stories.starbucks.ca/en/stories/2020/starbucks-canada-to-begin-testing-curbside-pickup/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mobile Order Curbside Pickup</a>.
